I have to say that I love my life! I am so excited to leave for Honduras on Saturday. We are taking both our boys and can’t wait to experience this as a family. We have taken our oldest on foreign missions trips but this be our youngest childs first time.
There is something that bonds and unifies a group when you go on a mission trip and I am very excited to experience that as a family. I am counting on God to change each one of us!
I am still amazed at how far I have come in my walk with the Lord. It is a true indicator of His grace that He has taken this spoiled rotten girl, who thought camping was a hotel without room service to a woman who is currently packing sheets to sleep outside for a night in a village in Honduras.
I still have so far to go but it is helpful sometimes to look back and see where the Lord has brought me. It is just like when Joshua made it to the promised land and God told Him to stop and build a memorial to remember what the Lord had brought them through. Today, as I pack for my second mission trip of the summer, I am very thankful. I am thankful that I am learning that surrendering to the Lord is not a limit on fun, it is fulfillment of our true calling and that just feels good.
Now, I am not saying that we don’t have to limit ourselves and demonstrate self-control in situations. I am not saying that our christian journey won’t be filled with heartache and disappointment. But what I am saying is that when we begin to fulfill the call of the great commission to go and make disciples of all nations, something bubbles up inside that can’t quite be described.
It is like what God has planned for me to do and my obedience have finally met and it is love at first sight.
