Same Song, Different Verse

I get tired of me, my same excuses. I do the same things over and over again.

I jumped on Beth Moore’s blog yesterday to and listened to her give a quick video detailing why she was taking a blog break.Immediately I was convicted, again.

I have been blase’ (dang it, word will not fix right, and I like that word, oh well, you get the point) about life. I started writing lots last week and got stuck in the yucky parts. Brad kept encouraging me that my old yucky parts are some bodies yucky right now but I just got into a funk. A lay in the dark kind of funk. A read mindless books all day kind of funk. A watch sad girl movies kind of funk. You know the kind I am talking about. Just a funk. Nothing serious, but one of those weeks.

So when I listened to Beth Moore’s video explanation of why she was taking a break – I was convicted. Because I do this same thing over and over. I commit to doing something then I get distracted or fall into a funk and quit.

The difference in Beth Moore and me (besides 100 other things I won’t go into) she is determined to do whatever it takes to make Jesus her number one priority and her calling on her life shows that. I am no Beth Moore but I want to have a relationship with Jesus like her – like Paul says, follow me because I follow Christ. That woman follows Christ, we can learn from her.

So, I have rallied some friends and they are going to help me over the next few months – they are going to share in posting with me on the blog. Y’all are going to be more blessed than ever!

I have to go back to my last step of disobedience and correct it. Good ole Oswald says “It is a matter of obedience, and once we obey, the relationship is instantly perfected. But if we turn away from obedience for even one second, darkness and death are immediately at work again. All of God’s revealed truths are sealed until they are opened to us through obedience.”

What is that  one thing you know that you need to be obedient and do?

FYI The second I posted this I looked up at the clock and it was 10:10. Dear friends of ours always pointed out during the day when the time of 10:10 came around and Brad and I have adopted that same routine. We often text each other or call when it turns 10:10. It is a reminder to remember John 10:10  The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

  1. Dang, girl. Why are you so much like me and going through the same things and throwing that conviction my way?!?!? Of course, I know it’s not you personally. It’s all God and His Holy Spirit. Sigh. I’m so not where I want to be. My funk? Playing Bejeweled Blitz ad nauseum even when I don’t really care how I play. Blech.

Guess I’ll have to go check out Beth’s blog. I’ve already read what Oswald had to say about it, of course. Some days, when I read him, I just know you’re going to post about it. And I know I’m going to get slammed. And I do.

Looking forward to when we can both post about how we walked in obedience. Praying for you.

    in Him,
    dianne
