Who Cares?

I have to admit that I have attempted to write our story many times this week. I will start, get a few sentences on paper and then I quit in frustration, thinking “who really cares?” Other than my family and a few friends (Brandy) I mean seriously, who cares what has happened over our lifetime.

Then I ran across this quote from an author:

“We think God is unjust rather than a Master Story Teller.”

It is not my story to write, it is His story. The only purpose of our story is to lead others to the one who created story. The Author who chose our lives to be a picture book for others to see Him. My purpose in writing is to tell how God is not unjust but The Master Story Teller. To show how God takes an ordinary life and writes on that life a story that only God can produce. I am just the character trying to follow His script.

Job 23:14 ” For he will complete what he appoints for me, and many such things are in his mind.” We all have a story because we all have a Master Story Teller who appointed one for us – don’t think God unjust when life doesn’t turn out the way you wanted. Let Him use your life to tell His story.  In John 11, after Mary and Martha told Jesus of Lazarus illness, he replied “This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” And after Lazarus’s death, Jesus said,”Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” God also promises us that our hurts, pains, and problems will lead to His glory if we allow it. Romans 8:18 (Brad’s favorite verse) “For I consider that the suffering of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

Will you allow Him to write your story?

  1. You and your family’s story is huge to so many people. I know that personally I go through things in my life and remember the strength and the faith that you showed and it is an inspiration. It gives me courage. Please never doubt that the Lord has used you mightily.

  2. How will others hear about God’s glory if we don’t tell His stories? While we can certainly tell people, face-to-face, I think there are times that God wants His work and His glory spread further. That’s where books, blog, and speaking engagements can come into play.

You’re on my prayer board – keep on writing, girl! 😉

  3. I really do encourage her every day to do it b/c she’s awesome and I know it would touch so many people. So, you guys can bet I am not going to let her off the hook. 🙂

  4. I LOVE it!! I am just realizing exactly how many people I’ve told about how awesome your blog is. Friends, Seattle Church planters, Bible study group and our Sunday School class.
