I am guilty.

I have been the person I didn’t want to be.

I have done things I knew I should not have done.

I have sinned and am a sinner.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed today by mistakes of my past and my present, I logged into facebook and Randy Alcorn had posted this: “God has seen us at our worst and still loves us. No skeletons will fall out of our closets in eternity. God won’t say, “Well, if I’d known that, I never would’ve let you into heaven!” God knows all my sins. And Jesus died for every one of them. No exceptions. “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst” (1 Tim. 1:15).”

Today, I am broken by past regret yet thankful that He came to save the worst of the sinners.

  1. Praise God that His love for me is not based on my performance, but His. Whew, what a relief that I don’t have
    to make up for what I’ve done, but I can just fall at His feet
    and ask Him to help me do the next right thing.
    This also reminds me of Romans 7 where Paul said, “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God – through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Romans 7:24-25)
    Thanks for honesty and pray that y’all have a blessed Sat.

  2. This was in Bible reading this morning . . . “Oh, How He Loves Us.” I love when His Word speaks directly to my feelings.

    Psalm 32
    Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
    my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Selah. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found;
    surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.
    You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble
    and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will counsel you and watch over you.Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
