Creativity

Jackson came in on Thursday night and said he didn’t feel good. We have gone through this every night since Jackson started kindergarden. He likes school once he gets there, it is just a process to get him there.

On this particular night he said he felt like he was going to throw up and so I got him a big bowl to put by his bed. A few minutes later he came in and said he threw up in the sink. I told him he probably just drank too much water and to throw up in the bowl. I wanted real evidence that he was really sick or just spitting in the sink. I told him I needed to see if it was just water or if he had the stomach bug. Then he starts asking me what throw up for the stomach bug looks like. I could see his mind churning and knew where he was going with this.

I waited a few minutes to sneak in and check on him.

Do you want to know what I found? My six year old was making his own throw up.

He had added various food to a bowl of water and was dipping his markers in the water to color it. It looked pretty good if I do say so myself.

He got points for creativity and a spankin’ for deception.

    1. Leigh so kindly reminded me that I put a spiderman blow up doll in my bed and covered it up so my mom would think that it was me.

I was downstairs watching tv. It only fooled her for a moment. What made me think she wouldn’t hear the tv?
