Here It Is

We are so excited! I am going to paint today! Ok, I went to Sherwin Williams – like $39 a gallon. Seriously! I want a red in the dining room and a gold/brown in our room but I don’t want to to pay $40 a gallon. Anyone have any good colors from Home Depot or Lowe’s? Plus, please don’t tell me to have them match the colors. I have tried that. Needless to say, we got hot pink walls one year when I was going for Ming Red.

I got the colors I want to paint the outside here . . . at flythroughourwindow.

  1. A professional painter once told me that he would never paint with any paint except from Sherwin Williams. The quality of paint is so much better that you don’t need as many coats as the cheap paint, thus perhaps saving you money in the long run.

  2. I always use Behr from Home Depot – but it’s been awhile since I’ve bought any so I have no idea on how much it costs. I like their colorsmart program that helps give inspiration.

Rob & I did our living room in a deep red called Roasted Pepper – there were a lot of good reds in that color swatch that I liked.

    1. Hey there – a professional decorator told me he never uses anything except Benjamin Moore – because they use more color pigment in their paing – which means it doesn’t fade and covers way better. That’s what I’ve always used and I have never regretted the extra price – so much more scrubbable, uses less paint, needs less coats (I’m all about saving money – but time is important as well…) WISH I COULD HELP!!

      1. Who knew paint would cause such strong feelings! Y’all are awesome. Thanks for the advice. Wish y’all were here to help too!

  3. Please let me know if you’re looking for a writer for your site.
You have some really good posts and I think I would be
a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d really like to write
some material for your blog in exchange for a link back to
mine. Please send me an email if interested. Thanks!
