“Interrupted”, Anyone?

I have been praying about leading a Bible study at church and just don’t feel like I have the time to commit to a weekly appearance at church. That would mean me getting out of my pj’s. So, thanks to the internet – I am going to attempt a weekly bible study via blog. This is a first for me and I am not really sure what I am doing. I figure we can get the workbook, do the homework each week and then discuss what we learned. Sounds easy enough to me.

I have one friend (my Melanie – friend, editor, old neighbor – the list could go on and on) committed to join me. Accountability, check!

We are going to go through “Interrupted” by Jen Hatmaker. “The gospel and the American dream. Somehow we’ve confused the two, trying to fit the message and life of Jesus into our idea of what we deserve. The result is a life spent pursuing comfort, even inside the walls of the church. But God wants to interrupt that pursuit.”  – back cover of “Interrupted”

Bible study, check!

You can get the workbook here if you would like to join us. Please leave a comment below if you want to participate –  I must offer accountability to you too. I am here to help 🙂

Monday, February 1, 2010 will be our introduction and we will discuss each week’s lesson every monday for five weeks.

Looks like a plan to me!

Here is a copy of the first week to get y’all started. InterruptedSample

  1. Sign me up! With a 4 month old son, I haven’t been able to get into any of the Bible studies going on. Seems like every time I think I’m about to have our schedule under control – he throws me a loop!
